Annual Report 2017-2018

This year 2017–2018, has been our first as a joint Boys’ Brigade and Girls Association Company. We normally try to follow the core values of the Christian faith and follow Jesus as a mentor.

This year was different, as we were trying to adapt a programme for both boys and girls, and with some success. We have had 32 boys and girls attending each Friday, and two leaders in each of 3 sections. In the coming year, many of our young folk will be going up into the Company Section. We will therefore be looking for additional help in this department.

We have tried to make our programme is varied and interesting as possible. The practices of cookery and craft, the problem-solving, technology, testing our physical stamina and skills, have been amongst our pursuits and we have experienced the great outdoors in the Leamington Parks and on the river. A number of the boys attended a camp with the 1st Rugby BB Company.

Josh Orr has continued to develop the drum and bugle band. The Company Section has been increased by a number of Junior section members. There are now 8-10 practising in each session.

We ended the year with games and a barbecue in the Newbold Comyn Fields.

Our boys and girls have taken part in a number of Church Services including the Christmas Christingle Service and the Saturday Pancake Service at Easter.

This is part of a Community and Mission work to families.

Our Minister Anthony Orr, holds a monthly devotion for the young people which is likely and thought provoking. He also helps regularly as a leader.

As we look forward to the sessions in 2018-2019, we would like to see an increase in the number of young people are leaders in the company. Church members are encouraged to get involved with the Company through prayer and practical help.

We work towards our young people developing in mind, body and spirit.

We thank all the leaders who have worked hard throughout the year and look forward to their input in the coming session.

We also sent the families, friends and supporters, and above all the young people of the Company.
