The Leamington Spa Baptist Church has been chosen as a Training Church for Thailand Action Team.

From the BMS Action Team Thailand

Following the training period at Leamington Spa Baptist Church, for young people, Keziah, Anna, Paul and Jonny wrote the following: -

“For our church placements we attended Leamington Spa Baptist Church, where we were kindly welcomed by everyone especially Anthony, Jean, Valerie, The Barkers and The Archers, which made our time there amazing, but also making it feel quite like home. Whilst at Leamington Spa Baptist Church we grew as a team and became more confident as we got involved with the Church. We became a part of the local Boy’s Brigade and Girl’s Association, helping with all sorts of activities both indoors and outdoors. We baked cakes a day before and socialised with the congregation after leading morning prayer. We also ran an evening service which was the highlight from our training, where we spoke of what we were about to do and how they can support us in prayers. Our stay in Leamington Spa Baptist Church  really showed how God moves through people, not just though prayer but through love, kindness and generosity.”

Keziah, Anna, Paul, and Jonny joined other young people, also part of the Action Team, but for different countries, for their Commissioning Service at the Weoley Hill United Reform Church, in Birmingham on Saturday 29th September. Representing Leamington Spa Baptist Church were or Minister Anthony Orr, Val Kennedy and Dorrette McAuslan, who were introduced to the parents of the four young people who came to Leamington Spa.

Anthony has had news that the four are settling in Thailand and have started their language classes and other activities such as helping with young children. We are reminded to continue to remember them in our prayers and asked for them to be successful in adjusting to a new culture, learning a new language, for team strength and togetherness and for giving and having time with God.

Introduction to the team

Arrival In Thailand - 31st October 2018

Daring Faith! - 11th November 2018

Singing in the rain - 28th November 2018
Our main purpose here is to teach the local children english, predominately using games and having fun. We are very busy, with 10 classes a week, though have felt blessed to have Helen with us, often bouncing in with new creative ideas to try.  You will hear plenty more about this in the following blogs.

Prayer Points:
  • Quick recovery for Jonny, Paul and Keziah from the cold, and that Anna survive the epidemic
  • We will put into action what God has been speaking to us about and that the ‘Whitehouse’ would in fact become the ‘lighthouse’
  • That we would continue to have fun with the kids and build deeper friendships with the locals
  • Obviously we have started preparations for Christmas outreach- please pray that God will use all that will happen for His will
  • Pray that God will reveal Himself to the people of Wang Daeng and grow His church here
Thanks for reading and praying – Team Thailand 🙂
